  1. A week in Zamboanga del Sur - reflections on the Filipino countryside...

"So, where would you like to go?" I asked Crystal.

    "Japan", she replied.

Doing my best not to show the staggerment felt when one's eleven year old niece, a very nice, quiet, shy girl, calmly informs one that she wants to go and be a prostitute (a "jappayuki") in a foreign country, I said:

  2. The Road Back

From the age of 20 until the age of 28 I was an avid practitioner of various Martial Arts disciplines, then from the age of 28 until about 33 I pretty much left that behind me for all intents and purposes, just heading back for the odd training session. 5. The City of Dasmariņas, Cavite

The following day after arriving in Manila, I went with Joy and her Tita Tess to Dasmarinas, Cavite. This is where some of her family live, including her brother Jojo. The drive down was pleasant enough, the coldness of the aircon within the car is something I have come to like when it comes to travelling in 30 degrees heat.

Once there I had the Filipino meet and greet session, which involved meeting the family and neighbours to boot. Some of Joys family I had gotten to know on Facebook ...
